PSUD Drops Penn State Schuylkill 56-53

The Penn State DuBois Lady Lions continued their inspired play with a 56-53 road win against Penn State Schuylkill Thursday night.  The win improves PSUD's conference record to (5-6) and (8-11) overall.  DuBois has won three of their last four games to keep their PSUAC playoff hopes alive.

In a well-rounded attack, PSUD had three players hit double figures in the victory.  Ashley Brown (Otto Eldred) led the charge with 12 points.  Right behind were Kristy Hanes (Elk County Catholic) 10 points, and Melody Young (Otto Eldred) 10 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double.  Kristen Williams (Eisenhower HS) also tallied 9 points.

"We have played very good defense the past two games to put us in position to win both games in the final minutes," said Coach Pat Lewis.  "The girls know that a playoff spot is still a possibility and they have stepped up their intensity on defense."

PSUD returns to action this weekend with home games against Penn State Wilkes Barre and Penn State Lehigh Valley on Saturday and Sunday.  Both games will begin at 1:00.
