Penn State DuBois baseball opened up their conference play last night as they took on PSU New Kensington in a single game at Showers Field. Taylor Boland got the start for DuBois, and kept New Ken scoreless through 5 innings.
DuBois offense scored quickly, and put up 8 runs in the first 2 innings. DuBois would continue to put up runs throughout the game, and in the 5th inning Colby Bodtorf would smack a bases loaded clearing double to score 3 more runs. Bodtorf would lead the team in RBI's tonight with those 3, while Trevor Hanna and Daniel Stauffer would have 2 each on the game.
Boland would allow only 1 hit through 5 innings before Mason Lieb would come in for the final 2 innings of work as DuBois would cut the game short on a run rule, defeating New Ken 15-1.
DuBois will travel to New Kensington on Friday afternoon for a double header.
