PSUD Triumphs Over Division 3 Penn College
Penn State DuBois had 5 players score in double figures and shot 55.6% from the floor with an astonishing 11-20 from the 3 point line to win 100-91 in overtime over Penn College. The first half also saw PSUD outrebound Penn College 17-9 as well as dish out 12 assist to only 4 for Penn College. At the half PSUD held a small advantage of 43-38
The second half saw PSUD sharing the ball as well as the first half as again they dished out 12 assists to only 5 for Penn College. The game saw
18 ties and 18 lead changes, not suprising that this contest went into overtime. From the tip in overtime, PSUD would lock down on the defensive end only giving up 5 points in the extra frame while scoring 14 of their own to close out the win.
The Foradora Insurance Player of the Game Tristan Pierce (Lancaster,OH) lead all scorers with 36 points, 12-20 from the floor (10-15 from 3) while adding 7 rebounds. DJ Hopkins (Huntington,MD) contributed 12 points and 8 rebounds, Dylan Huey (Punxsutawney,PA) added 16 points on 7-8 shooting, Cole Morris (Rimersburg,PA) and Tre'von Williams (Johnstown,PA) both impressed in their college debuts scoring 10 and 13 points. Cole also grabbed 6 rebounds and dished out 7 assists.
PSUD will welcome conference play into campus Friday at 8pm against PSU Brandywine and Saturday at 3pm with PSU Lehigh Valley.
