PSUD Cross Country Teams Compete Strongly at Allegheny Classic
The Penn State DuBois cross country teams made a strong showing this past weekend at Allegheny College for the Allegheny Classic where a highly competitive field of 20 teams from NCAA Divisions I, II, and III came together. Despite being the smallest school represented, PSUD held its own, with the men's team finishing an impressive 11th overall.
The invitational featured 185 runners in the men's race and 158 competitors in the women's race, highlighting the depth of the field.
In the men's 8K event, Jack Craig led the way for PSUD, clocking a time of 31:29 to place 55th overall. Close behind, Eli Fox crossed the line in 63rd with a time of 33:13. Rounding out the top finishers for the Lions were David Kunselman (68th), Brady Means (71st), Logan Meier (79th), and Chase Hook (81st).
On the women's side, Jasmyn Williams and Rebecca Martin made their season debuts in the 6K race, finishing back-to-back in 148th and 149th place, respectively.
The meet served as a valuable experience for the PSUD runners, proving that even against larger programs, their determination and focus allow them to compete at a high level. The teams will look to build on this performance as they next travel East to the Lock Haven Invitational on September 27.
