The Penn State DuBois softball team hosted Stratford University yesterday afternoon in a USCAA matchup. DuBois came into the game ranked #10 in the country, with Stratford close behind at #12.
Game 1:
Hitting – Laura Fatula (DuBois) went 4 for 4 from the plate, including a double and 2 RBI's on the day. Samantha Satterlee (Punxsutawney) led the team with 3 RBI's off of her 2 hits, which also included a double.
Pitching – Lizzy Scott (West Branch) go the start for DuBois from the mound, and went a strong 6 innings. Scott faced 26 batters, and totaled 8 strike outs. Brooke Harvey (Northwest) came in relief for the Scott in the 7th inning. Harvey gave up 2 hits facing 6 batters, and added 1 strike out.
Penn State DuBois won the game 9-6.
