Lady Lions Fall to Top-Seeded Central Maine in USCAA National Quarterfinal

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The eighth-seeded Penn State DuBois women's basketball team saw its championship aspirations halted on Wednesday evening, falling 77-55 to No. 1 seed Central Maine Community College in the quarterfinals of the USCAA Division II National Championship.
The Mustangs (27-1) established dominance early, utilizing a stifling defense that forced 43 DuBois turnovers. Central Maine jumped out to a 17-6 lead by the end of the first quarter and extended the margin to 37-17 by halftime.
Despite a 37-17 halftime deficit, the Lady Lions matched the Mustangs 40-38 in the second half, bolstered by double-doubles from Elizabeth Hungiville, Natalie Bowser, and Eden Wonderling. DuBois will play their final game of the season as they take on the 7 seed in Christendom at 3:15 on Thursday.
