Pat Lewis, Head Coach

Coach Lewis begins his eighteenth year as PSUD women’s basketball coach and brings with him forty-eight years of coaching experience from the high school and college levels.  Combining college and high school varsity, he has 444 victories and 554 wins at all levels of basketball.  Since starting the program at PSUD, Lewis has guided the Lady Lions to over 164 wins.  Coach Lewis was recently inducted into the Cameron County Sports Hall of Fame (2023).  

Under his direction as the women’s basketball coach, PSU DuBois has secured a spot in the PSUAC playoffs ten times and six times over the past seven seasons.  Penn State DuBois has been ranked as a top twenty team in the USCAA National Coach’s Poll often and ranked as high as 4th during past seasons.  Coach Lewis has had twenty-one PSUAC All-Conference selections, five USCAA All-Americans, twenty-four USCAA Academic All-Americans, and over eighty PSUAC Academic All-Conference Selections. 

During his high school career at Cameron County High School, Coach Lewis guided his high school teams to five 20+ win seasons as well as three Pennsylvania state playoff berths, twice reaching the Western Pennsylvania State Quarterfinals. He collected numerous Coach of the Year honors including the Olean Times Herald “Big 30 Coach of the Year” and the DuBois Tri-County Sunday “Coach of the Decade” awards.  Besides coaching basketball at the high school level, Coach Lewis has coached golf, baseball, and track. 

In 2013, Lewis started and coached the PSUD Golf program to a (31-7) record in their inaugural season, where his team won the 2013 PSUAC Golf Championship and he was named 2013 PSUAC Coach of the Year.  During his two years at the helm, PSUD golfers compiled an overall record of (52-14-2). 

Lewis continues to recruit locally and regionally. "There are a lot of talented student/athletes in the surrounding areas that get overlooked and they should have the opportunity to continue their playing career at the collegiate level and Penn State DuBois is a great place to do that.” 

Coach Lewis received his B.S. degree in Elementary Education from Clarion University where he was a member of the Clarion University track team and his M.S. degree in Guidance and Counseling from St. Bonaventure University.  Pat resides in Emporium, PA, where he is a retired high school guidance counselor, with his wife Andrea. He has four daughters and seven grandchildren.
